The Lower Kern River: the BEST of California Rafting

The furthest south of any Sierra river, the Lower Kern churns down a narrow canyon filled with numerous Class III and IV rapids. The whitewater rafting here is fast and fun and our camp ideally situated mid-way. The season on the Lower Kern River runs from late May until mid-September. We have two-day trips departing every day with Monday and Wednesday departures designated for family whitewater rafting adventures. The Lower Kern originates from the Lake Isabella reservoir and, unlike most California rivers, the flows are reliable all season long. The water temperature gets close to 70 degrees in the summertime. On Mondays and Wednesdays we offer specially structured Family Rafting trips and we offer youth and group discounts. A trip down the Lower Kern makes for a terrific summer adventure for the whole family.
